The Designer . . .

Director of Performance Equine Dentistry and PED Bits, Nic Graham is an Equine Oral Bio Mechanic and Equine Dentist certified by the College of Equine Dentistry Australia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Dental Technology from RMIT, and worked in Geelong, Australia for 13 years as a practicing and licensed Dental Technician.

Horses have always been her passion and a part of her family since birth. Nic now combines her passion for horses, and offers her education and experience in dentistry to the equine community – the same service she gives to her own performance horses. Nic is also a successful competitive rider in her own right.

The development of PED Bits . . .

Several years ago whilst nurturing her children with horse riding, Nicole visualised discomfort in the mouth of the horse via the hands of her children. There were no bits on the market which incorporated the English JP angled mouth piece. The Myler brothers bits were world renowned, however they did not have a specific English range which had aesthetics incorporated. Nicole set about to make a bit which looked good and was comfortable for the pony. As a practicing Whole Mouth Equine Dentist, and with her involvement with state and national pony clubs and competitions, Nicole’s mouth pieces attracted the attention and following of many riders who wanted the same comfort for their horses. With her background as a qualified Oral Biomechanic, Nicole decided to manufacture a range of bits which incorporated the core features of her design:

  • Maximum Comfort for the Horse
  • Ultimate Balance
  • Ultimate Performance
  • Independent Lateral Movements
  • Forgiving to Rider’s Hands
  • Specific to the Discipline
  • Follows Competition Guidelines
